Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the Click to Call Google Sheets add-on (the “Add-on”) accesses and uses data. The Add-on is designed to help users find phone-like numbers in a spreadsheet and trigger a call action using either: (a) a user-provided call URL template, or (b) the device’s tel: handler.

1) What data the Add-on accesses

• Spreadsheet content (active sheet): The Add-on reads the values in the active sheet to search and display matching rows, including cells that may contain phone numbers.
• Selected cell value: If the user clicks “Call Selected Cell”, the Add-on reads the currently selected cell’s value.
• User settings: The Add-on stores per-user settings such as call mode (URL vs. tel:) and a call URL template.

2) What data the Add-on stores

• Stored settings: The Add-on saves your call mode and (if applicable) your call URL template in Google Apps Script User Properties (settings tied to your Google account).
• No spreadsheet content is permanently stored: The Add-on does not persist spreadsheet rows/cell content to an external database.

3) What data the Add-on shares

The Add-on only sends data externally when you choose to trigger a call:

• URL Call Mode: The Add-on issues an outbound request to the URL template you provided, after replacing {{NUMBER}} with the digits extracted from the selected value.
• TEL Mode: The Add-on attempts to open a tel: link on your device using the digits extracted from the selected value.

Note: The call URL endpoint you configure may be operated by a third party (for example, your PBX/telephony provider). Your use of that endpoint is governed by that third party’s policies.

4) Permissions / OAuth scopes

The Add-on requests only the permissions needed to operate, such as reading the active spreadsheet, displaying the sidebar UI, and making outbound network requests when you trigger a call.

5) Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the Add-on and its configuration. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. You are responsible for ensuring that the call URL endpoint you configure is appropriate for your environment.

6) Data retention

Stored settings remain in your Google account’s Apps Script User Properties until you uninstall the Add-on or the settings are overwritten. Spreadsheet contents are processed on demand and are not retained by us.

7) Children’s privacy

The Add-on is not intended for use by children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8) Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Effective date” above will reflect the most recent version.
